When it comes to Peter Greenaway’s films a lot of us would agree that it’s not quite right to pick a favorite, but you must-have favorites, you know. I’d never heard of Greenaway nor his work until a few years back when a random girl in Belgrade mentioned The Belly Of An Architect. And that’s how I found my favorite film of all time.
Based in Rome, during the summer, the movie follows the architect Stourley Kracklite who has been commissioned to construct an exhibition dedicated to the architecture of the 18th-century French architect, Étienne-Louis Boullée, and it’s everything that you’ll ever want to feel, see and hear in a film.
